Lilian Frances Horan of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 1st. She was born on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1948, and is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and Steven (Rhonda) Bouknight; her grandchildren, Micaiah, Rubi, and Luke; and her daughter, Stacey Shuman. She is also survived by her stepchildren from her second marriage, Tabitha (Peake) Armstrong and Chevy Peake.

Lillian was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Lou Horan, her father, David Francis Horan, and her older brother, David Horan. She remained close to Dave's first wife, Carol Horan, who was not only her sister-in-law but also a dear friend. Lillian cherished staying in touch with her special niece, Sherry (Steve) Hohman, their son Stevie, as well as her nephew, Craig Horan.

During her junior high school years, Lillian served as a majorette, performing baton twirling with marching bands. After high school, Lillian traveled to Myrtle Beach with a high school friend and after a short stay, decided to make South Carolina her home. She moved to Columbia where she enrolled in business school, met her first husband, Blair, at Doug Broom's Drive-In on North Main Street, and later married on February 28, 1970.

Lillian worked as the department secretary for the College of Education at the University of South Carolina for eighteen years, later moving back to Essex, Maryland and continuing her career as anesthesia department secretary for Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where she retired in 2012. After caring for her mother, Lillian relocated back to South Carolina where she enjoyed living close to her two sons and her grandchildren.

Lillian came to faith in Christ as a child while attending Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church of Essex, MD, later becoming a member of Dundalk First Baptist Church and then a member of Central Baptist Church of Essex. She more closely followed Christ while being a member of Jackson Creek Baptist Church in Columbia where she took part in the Masterlife Discipleship Program. She continued serving the Lord as a member of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia where she took part in the Phillip Brown Sunday School class.
