Obituary

Lillie Mae Bartsch, of Blythewood, died Saturday, January 7, 2017. Born in Blythewood, South Carolina, on May 30, 1939 she was a daughter of the late Clifton and Mary Howell Hagood. Mrs. Bartsch was a member of Pine View Baptist Church. A loving mother and grandmother, she was affectionally known as "MeMaw." Mrs. Bartsch loved to watch sports and was a devoted Gamecock fan.

Surviving are her two daughters, Judy Bartsch and Sandra Tharpe (Wendell); two sons, Kenneth Bartsch (Roura) and Eric Bartsch (Kiley); five grandchildren, Daniel Bartsch, Shana Lynn Pye, Christian Bartsch, Erika Bartsch and Emily Bartsch; two great grandchildren, Everette Bartsch and Skylar Mae Perkins. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bartsch was preceded in death by her husband, Edward William Bartsch; a grandson, Joseph Bartsch; and all her brothers and sisters.
The funeral service for Mrs. Bartsch will be held at 1 o'clock, Wednesday, January 11th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with The Rev. James Ballentine officiating. Burial will follow in Pine View Baptist Church Cemetery, with a reception in the Pine View church fellowship hall. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, January 10th from 5 until 7 o'clock, at the funeral home.
