Forest Acres – Linda Jackson Dahlin, 68, of Forest Acres, SC, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the age of 68.

Born May 29, 1949 in Norman, OK, she was a daughter of the late William Jackson and Virginia Anderson Jackson. She graduated Blythewood High School and Columbia College, where she earned a degree in English. Linda worked for an accounting firm following graduation then in 1980, she was employed as Editor and Director of Publications at Research Planning, Inc., where her tenure spanned over a decade and she met her future husband. In December 1987, she married Jeffrey A. Dahlin.

Linda was a devoted mother and wife and a member of Forest Lake Presbyterian. She loved to travel, which she did with her husband on many motorcycle trips across the U.S. She also enjoyed reading and sewing. Her favorite activity was spending time with her best friend of 29 years, her husband, Jeff.

While Linda battled many health issues during the latter part of her life, she always maintained a positive and welcoming disposition and was loved by her healthcare professionals, caretakers and friends. One of her favorite scriptures, which reflected her faith in Christ, is found in Isiah 40:30-31, "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles." She and Jeff appreciated the compassionate and personal attention and care she received from her many healthcare professionals.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jeffrey A. Dahlin; daughter, Amy Mellin (Danh Nguyen) of Sacramento, CA; brother, Wayne Jackson (Avril) of Seaside, CA; and cousin, Patricia Tepper (Derwood, MD). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Jackson.

The service for Mrs. Dahlin will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, July 2nd, at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, 6500 N Trenholm Road, Columbia with Rev. Michael East officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
