Linda Carol LaRose, 82, of Columbia, died Monday, June 19, 2023. Mrs. LaRose was born to Mr. Charles and Mrs. Norma Settle in Bristol, VA on March 31, 1941. In addition to her parents, Mrs. LaRose is preceded in death by her husband, James C. LaRose and her brothers, Howard Settle, Sam Settle, Wayne Settle, Bill Settle, and Jack Dempsey.

Mrs. LaRose is survived by her children, William LaRose, Francie Dempsey, and Jimmy LaRose; her grandchildren, Lindsey LaRose, Kelly Rivera, Laura LaRose, Jamie LaRose, and Linda LaRose; and her sisters, Debra Keller, Sue A. Morrell, and Virginia B. Oliver; and Joan Leonard.

Mrs. LaRose was a long-time member of Killian Baptist Church. She was a graduate of USC and worked as a registered nurse at Baptist Hospital for 32 years. Mrs. LaRose served in the US Army as a nurse before meeting her late husband, James LaRose. She was a dedicated and devoted wife and loved spoiling her grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for her animals and loved to dance and listen to country music. Mrs. Larose will be remembered for her kind heart and free spirit. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

The graveside service for Mrs. LaRose will be held at Memorial Gardens of Columbia, 9301 Wilson Blvd., Columbia, SC, on Thursday, June 22nd at 1 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
