Linda Spring Shealy, 68, of Lexington, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Born January 29, 1950 in Tampa, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Willard and Dorothy Judith Spring.
An avid fan and graduate of the University of South Carolina, she had a 36 year career in nursing with much of it spent leading the apheresis collections department at the American Red Cross in Columbia. She loved spending time with her husband and family. Frequent beach trips and days spent sailing the waters of Lake Murray defined activities she loved the most. Later in life,always a nurse, she lovingly cared for her husband and mother during their slow declines, all the while spoiling her grandchildren and children.
Survivors include her son Scott Shealy (Sabrina) of Lexington; daughter, Jamie Montanye (Derrick) of Morehead City, NC; grandchildren, Luke, Kirby, Jesse, and Ilee Shealy; sister, Janet Spring; brother-in-law, Doug Shealy(Jeanette); as well as her niece Lorri Price and nephew Denis Toner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Larry Palmer Shealy.
A graveside service will be held at 11 o'clock, Monday, July 2nd at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
