Obituary

Melissa Ann (Lisa) Boney Clark, 54, of Blythewood died on Friday, February 26, 2021. Born in Columbia, SC, on October 7, 1966, she was the oldest daughter of Betty Abell Boney Price and the late Bobby Samuel Boney.

Lisa graduated from Spring Valley High School in the class of 1984, where she enjoyed cheerleading as well as being involved in student government activities. Her career was spent with Boyd Orthodontics, and later SC Department of Health and Environmental Control. In her long career with DHEC, Lisa met many friends and enjoyed her time in various positions. Lisa's free time was spent with family, entertaining at her house or trips to the beach. An organizer almost to a fault, she never failed to brighten your day, clean up a mess you made or support you through the good, bad and indifferent. Lisa was most proud of her son, Evan, and all of his accomplishments. She was a devoted daughter and spent time helping her mother during any given opportunity.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, is her husband, Jerry W. Clark; son, Dr. Evan W. Clark; brother, S. Greg Boney (Jaynie); sister, Donna B. Raines (Brian), all of Blythewood; mother-in-law, Frances C. Ross (Fletcher), of Blythewood; sisters-in-law, Teresa C. Fuller (Sam), of Savannah, GA and Beverly C. Scott (Jeff), of Charlotte, NC; nephews and nieces, Savannah Fuller, Bobby Raines, Sydney Scott and Zachary Scott; as well as her beloved Lab, Bud. In addition to her father, Lisa was preceded in death by her aunt, Peggy Clegg (Carl); father-in-law, Wayne Clark; and step-father, Myron Price.

A private service for Mrs. Clark will be held with the Rev. Scott Smoak and the Rev. Erwin Threatt officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. The family would like to sincerely thank the friends, doctors, nurses and staff that cared for Lisa; specifically, Prisma Health Richland, for their compassionate and unwavering support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., 2121 K Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037.
