Lisa Marie Hinsberg, 65, of Columbia, South Carolina, died on Thursday, September 17, 2026, after a brief battle with leukemia. Born on January 6, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, Lisa was the daughter of Richard DeSavage and Maria Casale DeSavage. Her life was a testament to faith, family, love, friendship, and resilience.
Lisa was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Her strength and positivity were a source of inspiration to all who knew her, especially as she faced and overcame many illnesses in her life.
A certified radiology technician by education, Lisa found her calling in her role as a manager at Lexington Medical Center. There, she was not just a leader but a beloved member of the team, forming lasting friendships with her coworkers. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life, as she was an active volunteer and supporter of the Lexington Medical Center Foundation.
Her love for adventure and creativity shone through her hobbies. She delighted in traveling with her husband, Michael, exploring destinations both near and far. Recent travels took them to Jordan, the Holy Land, and Italy. Lisa was also a talented crafter, always eager to discover new gadgets and techniques to fill her spare time with joy and creativity.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Michael Gerard Hinsberg; her children, Christopher Michael Hinsberg of Columbia, SC and Alexandra Marie Hinsberg of New York, NY; her sister, Christine Goodney, as well as countless friends and extended family.
The Mass of Christian burial for Lisa will be held at 12 o’clock, Monday, October 5th, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 100 Polo Rd, Columbia, SC, with Father Bob Higgins officiating.
The family will host a reception following at Corley Mill House, 221 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC.
In honor of Lisa's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lexington Medical Center Foundation, 2720 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, SC 29169.
Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
