Lois Mixon Frick

Lois Cecile Mixon Frick, 87, died on Friday, May 15, 2026. Born on November 21, 1938, in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Maner Mixon and Betty Louise Harrell Mixon.

Lois was a graduate of Eau Claire High School and lifelong, dedicated member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding the compassion, kindness, and grace she showed to everyone around her. Lois found her greatest fulfillment in caring for her family. She was a loving wife and mother who gave unwavering love and support to those she cherished most. Her kitchen was often filled with the warmth and laughter of family gathered around her home-cooked meals. She treasured family camping trips and the many memories created along the way. Lois was happiest at home, where she created a place of comfort, love, and peace for all who entered.

She is survived by her husband, John Boyd Frick, Jr.; children, Donald Frick of Blythewood, Tammi Whittle (Doug) of Blythewood, and Kimberly Almassri (Samer) of Columbia; grandchildren, Brandon Frick, Douglas Whittle, Jr., Zack Almassri (Allison), Mariam Silver (Kelvin), Adam Almassri (Vanyah), and Will Daniels (Allison); great-grandchildren, Nick Frick, Annabelle Frick, Emma Daniels, Erin Daniels, Jaxon Whittle, Ollie Whittle, Myla Almassri, Lainey Almassri, Ayden Silver, and Asher Silver; and sister, Betty Pleasant (David). She was preceded in death by her parents listed above and grand-daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Daniels.

The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Shives Funeral Home, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC. The funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Blythewood, SC. Burial will follow the service in St. Andrews Lutheran Church cemetery.
