Lonnette Estes Ogburn, 91, of Winnsboro, died Tuesday, October, 21, 2014. Born December 15, 1922 in Rock Hill, she was a daughter of the late Grady M. Estes, Sr. and Jo King Estes. A member of First Baptist Church of Winnsboro, Mrs. Ogburn served as dietician of Fairfield Memorial Hospital from the 1950's through the 1970's. She was a former member of The Winnsboro Woman's Club and co-founded First Insurance Agency, Inc. of Winnsboro in 1963 where she worked until her retirement in 2007. She also served in the US Navy as a munitions inspector on the home front during WWII.
Survivors include her sons, Brian E. (Mary Elizabeth) Ogburn of Winnsboro, James W. (Trisha) Ogburn of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Grady Earl (Dana) Ogburn; granddaughters, Margaret Caroline (Matt) Beamer, Deidre Nicole (Stuart) Rosen, Sherry Lane Gardner; great-granddaughters, Sydney Rosen and Tristan Gardner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ogburn was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Ogburn.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ogburn will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, October 23, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Winnsboro, 1373 Newberry Road, Winnsboro, with The Rev. Keith Coates officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock. Interment will follow in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Pageland, SC at 2:30 o'clock.
