Lorine Eva Rowell, 84, of Columbia, died Thursday, January 22, 2015. Born May 4, 1930 in Albemarle, NC, she was a daughter of the late Claude Flave Efird and Maggie Josephine Hartsell Efird. A graduate of Endy High School in Stanly County, NC, Lorine worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company until her retirement.

Lorine is survived by her son, Phillip James Rowell; and grandson, David James Rowell, both of Hawaii; sisters, Autie Furr, and Nellie Furr, both of Albemarle, NC; and many nieces and nephews in North and South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Rowell.

A graveside service for Mrs. Rowell will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, January 31st, at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Rd, Columbia. The family will greet friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North 1st St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
