Alice Louise Braziel Branham, 87, of Columbia passed away with her children by her side on Friday, November 25th, 2022. Born in Fairfield County, SC on December 9th, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Wylie and Rosa Lee Peake Braziel. She graduated with honors from Ridgeway High School in 1952 and was a recipient of scholarships from Lander and Coker Colleges. She worked at Baptist Book Store until she met the love of her life, married, and then began their family.

Louise was a wonderful wife, mother, nanny, and homemaker. She devoted her life to her husband and children and was always there when they needed her. She loved cooking and good food. Her beautiful smile lit up any room she entered. She has gone to her heavenly home now and will be forever in her family's hearts.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Bryant Branham. She is survived by her children, Alan Branham, Barbara E. Brown (Dale), Rose M. Smith (Tracy), James E. Branham (Michele), and Debbie B. Padgett (Tom), all of Columbia, SC; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and special sisters, Ann Mattox and Joyce Rillings, both of Nashville, TN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers David Braziel and Wayne Braziel; and her daughter-in-law, Ann Graddick Branham (Alan).

Family and close friends are invited to a celebration of of Louise's life at 2 o'clock, Tuesday November 29th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Shives Funeral Home at 1 o'clock. Following the service, a private committal service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
