Louise Dinkins Whittle, 94, of Columbia, died on Sunday, December 29, 2024. She was born in Richland County on October 24, 1930. Mrs. Whittle retired from the SC State Hospital in the Children's Ward where she worked for many years. She was strong in her faith and did extensive traveling as well as loved gardening and baking. Above all, she deeply loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Ann Long, Brenda Snow (Chuck) and Pete Lee (Gina); daughter-in-law, Pam Lee; grandchildren, Lisa, Pam, Michelle, Valerie, Jason, Julie Ann, Randy, Tonia and Christina; as well as 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willis Lee and Thomas Whittle; son, Bobby Lee; son-in-law, Willie Long; and granddaughter, Candace Lee.

The funeral service for Mrs. Whittle will be held at 12 o'clock, Monday, January 6th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with Pastor Timothy McIver officiating. Burial will follow the service in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 11 o'clock.
