Obituary

Lucille Clepper, 96, of Columbia, formerly of Houston, TX, died Thursday, February 12, 2015. Born February 5, 1919 in Coal County, OK, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Velma Arnold Caruthers. She was an active member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Houston and United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her sons, The Rev. Dr. Charles Wilbanks (Shin) of Little Mountain, SC, William Wilbanks (Julia) of Lewisville, TX; a sister, Shirley Richardson of Ada, OK; grandchildren, Cheryl Pohl, Judy Rafferty-Evans, Charles Smith, Damon Wilbanks, Nicole Vaughn, Sean Wilbanks, Andrea Wilbanks, Kai Wilbanks, Hannah Holbrook; 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Davis, two brothers; and four sisters.

The funeral service for Mrs. Clepper will be held at 3 o'clock, Sunday, February 15th at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 1918 Shady Grove Road, Irmo, SC with The Rev. Robert M. Vincent officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:30 o'clock. Memorials may be made to St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 2003 W 43rd Street, Houston, TX 77018. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
