Luis A Perez, 79, of Columbia, SC, formerly from San Juan, Puerto Rico, succumbed to natural causes at the comfort of his own home on Monday, February 21, 2022. Born October 25, 1942, he was a son of the late Carmen Maria Perez.

Luis was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone. Luis is survived by his sons Luis A Perez, Raul Perez; daughter, Rosa M Perez; and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Rosa Perez.

Luis loved riding his bike, wrestling, and western movies. He worked as a Janitor at the Manhattan hospital for 27 years but was forced to give up the career due to his wife's passing. Luis spent his free time watching various movies, western on TV. He also liked to spend time with his grandchildren making them laugh with his air guitar. Luis was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects or whatever else people needed him for.

A funeral service for Mr. Perez will be held at 2 o'clock, Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Lexington Memorial Cemetery, 1756 W Main St Lexington, South Carolina 29072. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
