Lurie "Nanny" Bailey Goff, 91, of Columbia, died Sunday, September 14, 2014. Born November 3, 1922, in Salley, SC, she was a daughter of the late Carlton Rush Bailey and Maggie Barr Bailey.
Ms. Goff was a resident of Forest Acres and a retiree from Allied Chemical. She was a long time member, and dedicated servant, of Killian Baptist Church, where she was a fixture in the nursery and the kitchen. She had an impact on generations of children and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Freeman (Herbert) of Lake Wateree, SC; daughter-in-law, Georgia Goff; grandchildren, Joshua Freeman (Lindsey), Christy Easler (Shane); three great grandchildren, Madison Freeman, Austin Freeman, and Mason Easler; and two nieces from Wagner, SC. Lurie was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Goff; three brothers; and three sisters. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and lived for her family.
A graveside service for Ms. Goff will be held 12 o'clock, Thursday, September 18th, at Killian Baptist Church Cemetery, with The Rev. Richard A. Humphries officiating. The family will receive friends from 11-12 o'clock, at Killian Baptist Church, 577 Killian Rd., Columbia, SC, 29203. Memorials may be made to the church.
