Lydia May Curtis, 88, of Blythewood, died Monday, September 8, 2014. Born March 2, 1926, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Margaret Carter Smith. Lydia worked with Moncrief Army Hospital. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Trinity United Methodist Church, and their Oasis Group.
Survivors include daughter, Beth Lisotto of Blythewood; son, Robert (Jan) Curtis of Lexington; grandchildren, Laura, Eric and Sarah; great grandchildren, Hannah, Kendall and Olivia Rose; sister, Elizabeth Ann (Hans) Warnick of MA; brother, Loring (Susan) Smith of Boston, MA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Curtis; brothers, William and Ernest Smith; and sister, Freida Holton.
The funeral service for Mrs. Curtis will be held 2 o'clock, Thursday, September 11th, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 90 Boney Rd., Blythewood, with The Rev. C. Nels Ledwell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Wednesday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Dr., Columbia.
