Mable G. Ard Lowder, 92, of Columbia, died peacefully, Friday, November 4, 2016. Born in Clarendon County on September 21, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Bradham Ard and Carrie Rebecca Nesbitt Ard. Mrs. Lowder retired from the State Hospital and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Hartin; daughter in law, Judy Lowder; grandchildren, Elaine, Ashley, Jamie, Amy, Troy, and Heather; great-grandchildren: Grey, Charles, Andrew, Audrey, Maddie, Palmer, Locke, Jacob, Loren, Caroline, and Emilee; three fur babies: Lola, Cheech and Ruby Jean and a brother, L.W. Ard, Sr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowder was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Lowder; a son, Rodney Charles Lowder and four sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Tuesday, November 8th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Monday evening at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens.
