Mrs. Mable Flitter Norton, 93, of Columbia, died Friday, February 12, 2016. Born in Columbia, SC, on April 4, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Colon (Matilda) Smith Flitter and William Flitter and widow of the late Kirt W. Norton.

Mrs. Norton considered her roles of wife, mother, grandmother and friend priorities above all others. She had been a member of Greene Street United Methodist Church for 93 years.
She is survived by daughter, Leigh Lindon Norton of Columbia, SC; son, Craig Winfred Norton of Pensacola, FL; granddaughter, Molly Chapman Norton; many loving nieces and nephews and a group of cherished friends.

The funeral service will be held 12 o'clock, Monday, February 15, 2016 at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Extension, Columbia, with The Rev. David Anderson officiating. The committal service will immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock. Memorials in Mable's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
