Lugoff – Mack Arthur Brown, 73, died Sunday, August 30, 2015. Born in Warthen, GA, March 10, 1942, he was a son of the late Pete F. Brown, Sr. and Thelma Page Brown. Mack graduated Washington Co. High School, Sandersville, GA, Class of 1963. He was a hazmat certified technician, a volunteer Richland Co. firefighter, Stations 24 and 27, an emergency medical first responder, Hurst Tool certified, and a certified interior and exterior firefighter. He worked as a foreman of the City of Columbia Sign Dept. and retired from Thompson Rental. Mack was a member of Northeast Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Sandra Jenkins Brown; children, Mack A. Brown, Jr. (Kristy), Tammi Angevine (Chip), Stacey Ross (Gregg); grandchildren, Erica, Maggie, and Kristina Brown, Jackson, Alexis and Mackenzie Angevine, Martina, Makayla, and Bennett Ross; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Neese, Amani and Lliam Woods and Jordan Angevine; siblings, Cecil Brown, Sr., Sarah Bratcher, Randy and Harville Brown. In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete F. Brown, Jr., Algie Brown; and sister, Faye Burden.
A funeral service will be held 3 o'clock, Wednesday, September 2nd at Northeast Wesleyan Church, 192 Sloan Road, Columbia, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
