Madelynn Joyce Johnson, 6, beloved and cherished daughter of Joshua Raymond and Kara Lynn Johnson, went home to Heaven on Thursday, October 7, 2021. She and her twin sister, Allison were born on December 6, 2014 in Columbia, SC.

Her blue eyes captured attention. Her warm and loving spirit made friends everywhere she went. She never met a stranger. Maddie loved others fiercely and was much beloved in return. She battled cancer fervently until the very end, and believed deeply in Jesus Christ as her savior. She touched many.

Survivors include her mother and father; brother, Michael Johnson; twin sister, Allison Johnson; paternal grandparents, Ray and Sandra Johnson of Georgetown SC; maternal grandparents, Michael and Vickie McIntyre of Columbia SC; paternal great-grandmothers, Helen Johnson and Peggy Ward of Georgetown SC; and maternal great-grandmother, Sandra Spindler of Sharon PA; aunt, Rebekah Johnson; uncles, Marcus and Charles McIntyre; along with many special friends and extended family members.

A Celebration of Maddie's life will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, October 16th, at Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Dr, Columbia, with Rev. Dennis Banks officiating. Burial will follow the service in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church beginning at 1 o'clock.
