Mae Alma Young Eddins, 90, of Columbia, died Monday, November 12, 2012. Born in Orangeburg County on September 14, 1922, she was a daughter of the late James Luther and Julia Corbett Young. She was a registered nurse and a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her nephews, Robert Sutcliffe of Wichita, KS, Roland and Linnie Sutcliffe and Robert Young, all of Norway, SC, Joe Sutcliffe of Blythewood, John Young of Pensacola, FL, Jim Young of Leesville, SC, and Michael Giddens of Geneva, FL; as well as nieces, Marie Carraway of Walnut Grove, MS, Pat Bair of Orangeburg, SC, Suzanne Lampe of Orlando, FL, Robin Villegas of Geneva, FL and Julie Wagner of Oveido, FL. In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Eddins; two brothers and five sisters.

The funeral service for Mrs. Eddins will be held 2 o'clock, Friday, at Eau Claire Baptist Church, with The Rev. James A. Goudelock officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home is assisting the family.
