Maggie "Sue" Pankey (Carr) Broach passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at her home. Sue was born in Patrick, SC, on November 3, 1928. She was the daughter of the late William "Jack" and Martha Pankey. Sue was a longtime member of Woodfield Park Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class.

Retiring after serving 24 years in the Finance Office at Fort Jackson, Sue enjoyed square dancing at the Yellow Rock Hall in West Columbia, bowling at Fort Jackson, and taking care of her plants.

Surviving are her son, Benjamin "Earl" (Merry Anne) Carr; daughter, Brenda Carr; granddaughter, Jacqueline (Rex) Wall; and great-grandchildren, DJ and Brandi. In addition to her parents, Sue was predeceased by her son, Steven Carr and many sisters.

A funeral service for Mrs. Broach will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, April 2nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Exn., Columbia, with The Rev. Jeff Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock.
