Mrs. Mamie Lou Jeffcoat, 85, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, August 07, 2012. Born on February 28, 1927 in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert Elders and Belle Lowery Elders.
Mrs. Jeffcoat loved her family. She was a member of the Railroad Retirees Dinner Club and she loved to fish.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Percy Jeffcoat; sons, Jerry (Patricia) Jeffcoat of West Columbia, Donald (Lynn) Jeffcoat of Lake Murray, and Wayne (Karen) Jeffcoat of Irmo; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jeffcoat was preceded in death by two sisters, and five brothers.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rachel, Linda, Charlotte, and Janie of Palmetto Hospice for the love and care shown to Mamie Lou.

A funeral for Mamie Lou Jeffcoat will be held, 2 o'clock, Friday, August 10th, at Celestial Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3111 Delree St., West Columbia, with The Rev. Mark Wendland officiating. Burial will follow on the cemetery grounds. Family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, PO Box 352, Newberry, SC 29108.
