Marci Jenae Fish, 54, of Columbia, died Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Born in Bloomington, IL, on January 11, 1965, she was a daughter of Marcia Scott Wilcox and the late L. Donald Wilcox.
Marci dedicated her life to showing love to those who needed it most-- from providing stern and compassionate guidance as a parole officer to teaching children with special needs. She completed her Master's degree in Special Education at the University of Central Florida.
Marci loved to travel, go to the theater, and make crafts for the people around her. She quickly made friends around the world and showed love to every person she met. She always made a point of sending postcards to her doctors to show them how grateful she was for how she was able to live her life. Even from the hospital, Marci could often be found crocheting gifts for friends, family, and her favorite nurses.
She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Richard A. Fish; daughter, Kristiaan A. Merritt and husband Mark; son, Richard A. Fish, II. and wife Marissa; mother, Marcia Wilcox; brother, Marc Wilcox; and sister, Marla Plunk.
The funeral service for Mrs. Fish will be held at 10 o'clock, Friday, October 11th, at Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the friends and family who have supported her, loved her, and prayed for her over the years. They would also like to thank each and every medical worker who helped give her the best life possible.
