Mrs. Margaret Parker Bell, 91, of Columbia, died Wednesday, August 3, 2016. Born on December 3, 1924, in Moundville, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ethel Thomas Parker. Margaret was a caring and giving person, and spent many years working as a registered nurse in New Albany, MS. She was active in politics and in her children's schools where she led two PTA groups as their president. In 2009, Margaret moved to Columbia, SC to be nearer her family, and her loving presence with them will be greatly missed.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Juanita Armstrong (Evan) of Summerville, SC, Pat Buyck of Columbia, and Diann Fill (Greg) of Isle of Palms, SC; son, James Bell of James Island, SC; grandchildren, Beth, Craig, Brett, Cindy, Brook, and Chad; great-grandchildren, Abby, Taylor, Taylor, Charlie, Bryce, Hadley, Connor, Aspen, Cassidy, and Leigh Bell; great-great-grandchildren, Brice, Charlie, and Connor; sisters; Mary, Ruth, Becky, and Johnny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Bell; sister, Faye; and brother, Devon.
The service for Mrs. Bell will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, August 7th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd. Ext., Columbia, with Dr. James St. John officiating.
