Obituary

Mrs. Margaret "Marbeth" Mellette Brown, 93, of Blythewood, died at home surrounded by her loving family Sunday, August 15, 2021. Born in Turbeville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Miller H. and Bessie McNeill Mellette and married to the late Charles Dupre Brown. Marbeth was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was a financial secretary for North Trenholm Baptist Church. She was a caring and giving person who enjoyed sending birthday and anniversary cards to friends and family and rarely missed an occasion.

Survivors include her children, Linda Harrigan (Joe) of Greenville, Alan Brown (Norma) of Columbia, Ronald Brown (Kate) of Troy, New York; grandchildren, Laura Brown, Michael Brown (Brittany), Chris Harrigan, Jenny Brown, Charles Harrigan; great-grandchildren, Kyler Brown, Liam Griffin; brother, Russell Mellette (Grace) of Lexington, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Emily Jones of Myrtle Beach. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Herbert, William Robert, Thomas, Dan, and her sister, Naomi.

A service will be held 1 o'clock, Thursday, August 19th, at North Trenholm Baptist Church, 6515 North Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the worship center. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to North Trenholm Baptist Church.
