Margaret Edith Miller, 90, of Elgin, died Saturday, May 2, 2020. Born in Bluefield, West Virginia, on September 5, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Samuel and Zula Mae Wood Doss. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a church bookkeeper for more than 30 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara A. Burnett (Jackson) of Elgin and Cheryl D. Miller of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Brenton Charles Lonkey, William Trevor Lonkey, Jack Burnett, Stacey Sanders, Duane Richardson, Ashleigh Mason, and Aja Smith; great grandchildren, Jacqueline Burnett, Austin Sanders, Haleigh Sanders, Garrett Richardson, Miller Richardson, Hannah Tarlton, Ashlynn Martin, and Rebecca Martin; as well as her twin great-great grandchildren, Jaylen and Julian Cooke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Miller; her daughter, Vickie Lynn Brassington; and two brothers and one sister.
In light of the recent Novel COVID-19 virus, the family will hold a private graveside service at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
