Margaret (Mae) Willamae Petrin, 85, of Columbia, died Sunday, September 20, 2020 after a long illness. Born on March 3, 1935 in Cement, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late William Albert Pate and Lillian Modean Dees Pate. Mae was a longtime resident of Columbia, having lived in the area for more than 50 years.

Survivors include her four children, Roger Petrin (Debbie) of Prattville, Al, Joyce Wilson (Douglas) of Charlotte, N.C., Ronald Petrin of Columbia, and Richard Petrin (Susan) of Elgin; seven grandchildren, Jason Petrin (Nicole), Christopher Petrin, Arlene Morris (Malcolm), Keith Petrin, Jennifer Flanagan, Bryan Wilson (Samantha) , Joshua Petrin; and eight great grandchildren. Mae is also survived by two brothers, Tom Pate and Ross Pate.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph Roger Petrin, brothers, Elba Pate and W.A. Pate; and sisters, Edna Lee and Earldean Bruno.

The Memorial Service for Mrs. Petrin will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel. The Rev. James A. Goudelock will officiate. A private family inurnment will take place at Fort Jackson National Cemetery prior to the service.
