Margaret (Marge) Logue Whitney, 90, of Ridgeway, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. Born in Buffalo, NY, on May 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John Gerard and Mildred Elizabeth Feist Logue.
Marge will always be remembered for her deep love of family, her generous spirit, and her unwavering faith. She faced every season of life with perseverance and grace. Those who knew her knew she was a devoted Christian who lived her faith daily. Her belief in Jesus—knowing she was never alone—was the foundation of her strength, determination, and resilience.
Marge was a member of Lake Wateree Presbyterian Church and a Life Member of VFW Post 8346, where she and her husband of 50 years, George, served as officers, socialized, and danced every chance they got. She loved to read, spent many Tuesday mornings knitting with her dear friends "The Knitters" in Ridgeway and looming knitted hats for Thornwell Children's Home. She delighted in calling homebound individuals through the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office Home Alone program, which she helped implement. And of course, she was an avid NFL fan—never missing a game and proudly cheering on her Buffalo Bills......… GO BILLS!
Known for her sweet nature, gentle humor, and sometimes sassy disposition, Marge touched every life she encountered. She lived by the words "Live, Love, Laugh," a motto she carried close to her heart and wore proudly on a necklace each day—a perfect reflection of her joyful, compassionate, and resilient spirit. Her steadfast faith sustained her, and today she is fully healed, reunited with those who went before her, and face to face with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
John 14:1-4
She is survived by her daughter, Sandi Rosario (Jorge); her sons, George Enrite Whitney, Jr. (Linda) and Dan Whitney; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Enrite Whitney, and her sister, Patricia Logue Tornambe.
A service honoring Mrs. Whitney will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with her grandson, Pastor Timothy Whitney, officiating. A graveside service will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7th, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office Foundation (Home Alone Fund).
