Margie Mauise Jackson Cox, 79, of Lugoff, SC, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Born on September 9, 1945, in Kershaw County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Leroy Jackson and Lila Mae Richardson Jackson.

Mrs. Margie was a faithful member of Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church where she participated in church activities and made many lasting friendships. She loved gospel music, mountain trips, and dinners with family and friends at the Texas Roadhouse and Ocean View Seafood Restaurant. Mrs. Margie loved her family immensely, especially her mother. Later in life Mrs. Margie routinely acted as a caretaker to many relatives as their health declined.

Survivors include her children, William Leslie Lee of Lugoff, SC and Trudy Mae Lee of Lugoff, SC; granddaughter, Kayla Marie Powell (Rodney) of Lugoff, SC; great grandchildren, Aiden Lee Powell of Lugoff, SC and Harley Bell Thompson of Lugoff, SC; as well as her sister, Geneva Baldwin of Clinton, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Luther "J.W." Lee; grandson, Kristopher Leslie Lee; and her brothers, Malone Jackson and Everett "Jack" Leroy Jackson.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Saturday, September 6th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC.

The funeral service for Mrs. Margie will be held at 4 o'clock, Sunday, September 7th, at Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church, 920 Horrell Hill Road, Hopkins, SC 29061. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
