Mariann Frances Murphy, 64, of Blythewood, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Born in New York, on July 18, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Alice May Doyle and Pat Smith. Following the death of her father at a young age, her mother married Harold Murphy who became the father she knew, grew to love and was raised by.

Family was always most important and the constant in Mariann's life and she was the type of person that would do anything for anyone she knew – or even did not know! She loved Jesus and was a member at Village Church in Blythewood. In her spare time, she enjoyed family game nights, watching sports; especially Clemson Football as well as wine nights or margaritas at San Jose with friends and family. Near to her heart was animal rescue missions, as she often rescued many stray kittens. Purple was her favorite color, coloring apps on her phone passed the time and she never missed an opportunity to be poolside with her cats.

Mariann is survived by her daughter, Allison Strasser (Gregg); grandchildren, Rylee Strasser, Henley Strasser and Maverick Strasser; beloved cats, Bella and Oreo; as well as siblings, Carolyn Jenkins (Wayne), Shannon Buck (Jeff); and Harry Murphy. She is also survived by nephews and nieces, Matthew Jenkins, Shelby Jenkins, Connor Buck (Brooke), Coby Buck (Madison Grindstaff), Aliya Murphy, Kierah Murphy, Jayden Murphy, Lucas Murphy and Evyn Murphy; as well as a great-niece, Presley Buck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Shampine.

The service for Ms. Murphy will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, May 3rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with Pastor Erik Estep officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 10 o'clock.
