Chapin – Marion Daniel Turbeville, 68, of Chapin passed away Friday, March 31, 2017. Born in Turbeville, SC on April 14, 1948, Marion was a son of the late Edward Eugene Turbeville and Frances Marion Baker Turbeville. He was a member of the 1965 East Clarendon Football Championship team where he was also the Student Body President. After attending Wake Forest University where he earned a Bachelor's degree, he went on to earn his Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. An Eagle Scout and avid Gamecock fan, Marion led a successful career in the banking industry where he later established his own commercial real estate consulting business. He was a member at Ashland United Methodist Church.

Marion is survived by his wife, Lynn Phifer Turbeville; along with his children, Brian W. Turbeville (Amanda), Danielle Turbeville Bower (George), Scott W. Burkholder (Jenny), and Ashley Burkholder Raley (Mike); 11 grandchildren, Alyssa, Brysan, Lani and Ashton Turbeville, Karson, Greyson and Lydia Bower, Eric and Kaylee Burkholder, Alex and Davis Raley. Also surviving is a brother, Frank Turbeville, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Marion is preceded in death by a brother, Ed Turbeville.

A funeral service for Mr. Turbeville will be held at 3 o'clock Monday, April 3rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext, Columbia, with the Rev. Tresco E. Shannon officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.
