Marjorie Ballentine Price, 83, of Columbia, died Thursday, November 23, 2023. Born July 2, 1940, in Macon, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Wells Fulmer and Viola Blanche Epting Ballentine.
Marjorie was a proud graduate of Columbia High School. She was the matriarch of her family and a proud homemaker. After her daughter Lorraine's 14th birthday, Marjorie decided to reenter the workforce. She was employed as a branch manager for North American Philips Federal Credit Union, currently Partner's 1st Credit Union, for over 23 years until her retirement.
A devout Christian, Marjorie was a long-standing member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church and occasionally attended Calvary Chapel. Marjorie, and her late husband Lawrence, were members of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, where they loved spreading the faith of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Marjorie was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a dear friend to many.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Price of Columbia and her sister, Patricia Cowell of Lexington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lawrence Edward Price, as well as two brothers, Chevis Ballentine and Donald Ballentine.
The funeral service for Mrs. Price will be held at 2 o'clock on Monday, December 4th, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1416 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29210. A committal service will follow at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church Cemetery, 407 St. Andrew's Road, Columbia, SC, 29210. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel is assisting the family.
