Marjorie Ann Stubblefield Hoskins graduated to heaven on Friday, December 6, 2024. She was 95. Born August 7, 1929, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Royce Roswell Stubblefield and Bernice Marie Thomas Stubblefield.
Marjorie attended Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) in Springfield, Missouri. She married Robert Hoskins in 1950 after which they moved to Columbia, South Carolina where he was stationed at Fort Jackson. After the Army, Marge and Bob remained in Columbia and made their life there as Bob enjoyed a long career with Southern Bell. They were active in two churches - Colonial Heights Baptist Church and, since the late 1950's, North Trenholm Baptist Church where Marge sang in the choir and served in multiple ways. She has resided in Marietta, Georgia since 2015.
Marge was proud of her career as an administrative assistant for many years. She retired in 1988 and truly enjoyed retired life! She loved her family and friends!
Marge is survived by her daughter, Anne Wright (Bryant) of Marietta, Georgia and daughter-in-law, Sherri Hoskins of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was so very proud of all of them: George Wright (Megan) – Mckenna, Brody, Anna Beth, and Everett; Andrew Wright (Brooke); David Wright (Kate) – Mackie, Hank, and Sally; Rob Hoskins; Ryan Hoskins (Alix) – Emmy; and Becca Hoskins. Marge was preceded in death by her husband Robert Louis Hoskins, her son Thomas Royce Hoskins, her brothers Thomas Earl Stubblefield and Robert Charles Stubblefield, as well as her beloved parents.
A graveside service will be held to honor and celebrate her life at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC on Friday, December 13th at 10:00 am.
