Mark Long Meetze, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC on June 5, 1964, he was a son of the late Quinton Mathias Meetze and Voncille Long Meetze. Mark graduated from Irmo High School in 1982. Later, he spent his entire career in the jewelry business. Mark loved spending time with his family and friends, and never knew a stranger. Mark also enjoyed weightlifting, spending time on the family farm, and riding dirt bikes with his sons. You would more than often see Mark riding in his BMW with the top down on a sunny day. He was often referred to as "Sparky," for providing a spark in the community and people around him. His memories of joy, laughter, and love will not be forgotten.

Survivors include his wife, Brandie Meetze; sons, Dylan Meetze and Ryan Meetze; sister, Anita Meetze-Kelly (John); brother, Paul Meetze (Laura); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Mr. Meetze will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, July 16th, at Salem United Methodist Church, 1321 Salem Church Rd, Irmo, SC, with Rev. Jeff Childress officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6PM to 8PM, Monday, July 15th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
