Martin Terry Santangelo, 61, died Friday, June 2, 2018. Born March 17, 1957 in Buffalo, New York, he was a son of the late Jack and Irene Canfield Santangelo. Mr. Santangelo was a graduate of Cuba Central School and Alfred Ag Tech, both in New York. He was a master automotive technician having been employed for more than 30 years with Hampton Jaguar and Jaguar of Columbia. Mr. Santangelo was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Blythewood and was active participant in the United Methodist Church Salkehatchie summer service programs. Over the past three years, he donated hammers to the first-time participants in the Salkehatchie program as a reminder to continue to build for Our Lord and Savior. Mr. Santangelo had a great passion for classic cars. He restored and owned several himself over the years. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America(AACA), Sandlapper Chapter, where he served as the editor of the chapter newsletter.
Mr. Santangelo is survived by his wife, Ann Santangelo; children, Tessa Comer (Ray) and Nicholas Santangelo; grandsons, Martin Blaine Harvey and Richard Colton Comer; brother, George Santangelo(Dawn); sisters, Sandy Greek(Charles) and Veronica Clayson; as well as many other extended family and friends.
The service for Mr. Santangelo will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, June 23rd at Trinity United Methodist Church, 90 Boney Rd, Blythewood, SC with the Rev. Clyde Scott officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
