Mr. Marty Lee Rollison, 66, of Winnsboro, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Born June 11, 1957, in Columbia, he was the son of the late Bernest "Skinny" Rollison and Miriam "Cil" Guess Hall.
Marty grew up in Olympia village of Columbia. He met the love of his life, "Debbie" while working in the Cotton Mill in Olympia. After the birth of their second child, Marty served his country in the United States Army for thirteen years before leaving the service as a decorated Sargent. He saw combat in Desert Storm, where he served as a combat medic, and was awarded the bronze service star for his service.
Affectionately known to many as "Papa", he could always be found in the woods hunting and fishing. He always made his home on the river with a fishing rod in his hand. When not in the woods, he enjoyed weekend getaways in the camper, especially with the grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was his family and will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Marty is survived by his children, Dee Pullen (Chris), Christopher Rollison (Ashlee), Toisha Dallas, Tara Johns, Christin Rollison; grandchildren, Kyle McKinney, Shawn (Dewy) McKinney, Brandon McKinney, Ashton McKinney, Dillon Pullen, Sara Pullen, Josh Rollison, Bryson Nesmith, Addison Rollison, Terrance Sulivan, Aiden Johns, Ridge Rollison, Avery Johns, Tristian Rollison, Teagan Johns, and many loving great grandchildren; siblings, Dean Guess, Kay Goff, Kim McQuiston, Janis Truesdale. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife, Deborah Rollison; siblings, infant twin Rollisons, Randy Rollison, and Tina Shoemake; as well as nieces and nephews, Matthew Floyd, Jason McQuiston, Tiffany McNeely.
The service for Mr. Rollison will be held at 3 o'clock, Saturday, March 23rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 2 o'clock.
