Mary Jean Coleman Forrest, 89, of Columbia, formerly of Saluda, SC, died peacefully, Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Born August 21, 1926 in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Bruce Coleman and Verda Marcella Jay Coleman.

Survivors include her daughter, Amy Forrest; a son, James B. Forrest, Jr.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Forrest; one brother; and two sisters.

A service will be held 10 o'clock, Saturday, June 11th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with The Rev. Dr. Eddie Coakley officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:30 o'clock.
