Obituary

Mary Martin Glenn, 88, of Columbia, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Born in Columbia, on September 25, 1929, she was a daughter of the late James Warren and Rachel Melvina Allen Martin. Mrs. Glenn was a Past Regent of the Eleanor Laurens Pinkney Chapter, of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In her free time, she often volunteered at the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia. As a longtime member of Spring Valley Baptist Church, she enjoyed singing with the Valley Voices at the church.

Survivors include her children, Phillip "Phil" Glenn (Rena), Michael "Mike" Glenn (Donna Ruth), Carolyn Glenn Payne (Keith), and Donna Glenn Holley (Doug); grandchildren, Michelle Hudgins (James), Matthew Glenn, Melanie Williams (Adam), Chad Glenn (Jessica), Paula Trump (Doug), Sarah Nobles (Nick), Claire Ziegler (Chris), Mary Louise DeCrescenzio (Vincent); and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Glenn was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hoyt "B.H" Glenn; and two siblings.

The graveside service for Mrs. Glenn will be held 1 o'clock, Friday, July 13th at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, with Dr. Robert Winburn and Dr. Rick McCollum officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Thursday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
