Mary "Nanu" Miles Goff, 83, of Columbia, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Born on August 20, 1941, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wade Hampton Miles and Lila Mae Garrett Miles.

Mary was very passionate about her church and her love for The Lord. She grew up attending Macedonia Baptist Church. She later joined Alpine Baptist Church (now Sonrise Baptist Church) where she was a faithful servant, taking on many roles; teaching Sunday School, secretarial work, and arranging alter flowers just to name a few. The love of children led Mary to take care of many in her home throughout the years, including her own grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping, going to the mountains, reading, traveling and taking multiple cruises over the years. She always looked forward to her "old hens trips" that her vacations with her sister, daughter and niece affectionately became known as. The laughter and memories of past trips with the older generation of ladies brought her great joy and comfort.

Mary was a devoted wife to her husband Gary A "Papa" Goff for 66 years. He reminds us daily that "she was my best friend". In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by children, Jeff Goff and Jan Goff Lee (Joey), sister, Sandra Hopkins (Joe), brother Don Miles (Holly), sister-in-law Jane Miles, two grandsons, Tyler Hedgepath and Justin Yandle-Goff, two great grandchildren, Zoey Hedgepath and Adelyne "Nubies" Yandle-Goff.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Mark Goff and brother Jimmy Miles.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Sonrise Baptist Church, 4930 Alpine Rd. Columbia, SC 29223. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
