Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Agnes Shelton, 87, of Columbia, will be held at 3 o'clock, Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow the service in Killian Baptist Church Cemetery, 577 Killian Cemetery Road, Columbia.

Mrs. Shelton was a dedicated and loving mother, sister, grandmother and close friend to many people. She gained her wings on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Jesse Lee and Hattie Dinkins Lee.

Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her husband, Carl "Pete" Shelton, Sr.; daughter, Diane Shelton; and her six brothers, Langford Lee, Ottis Lee, Stuart Lee, Louis Lee, Carlisle Lee and McGee Lee.

Survivors include her sons, Carl and Jack Shelton; daughters, Agnes Dial and Wendy Bass, all of Columbia; grandchildren, Michael and Jason Shelton, Heather Branham, Kayla Schneider, Tyler Bass, Timmy Dial, Joey and Ashley Shelton; as well as 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren, her brother, Otis Lee; and sister, Joann Eargle.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clayton and Coleman Trapp, Tyler Bass, Randy Branham, Coleman Trapp, Jr., Michael Shelton and Timmy Dial.

The family would like to recognize and thank Vickie Padgett, Lynn Asmar and Brittany Ray for stepping up and helping out with love and kindness during our mother's decline.
