Mary Catherine Williams LeGrand, 93, of Columbia, died on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Born in Columbia, SC, on November 19, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Jim Brooks and Florie Neeley Williams. Mrs. LeGrand was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Holiness Baptist Church and was a devoted homemaker and mother. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking and often spent summers going to camp meetings in Hendersonville, NC and Greenville, SC.

Survivors include her children, Frances Sears (Tim), J.B. LeGrand (Judy) and Delores Wines; grandchildren, Allen Robertson, Angela Brown, Jay LeGrand, Wesley LeGrand, Paul Wines, Renee Hocker, Joy Donkel, Joe Wines, Jim Wines, Jennifer Jolly; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and her sisters, Doris Manley and Nell Hornsby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edison LeGrand; son, James Edward "Buddy" LeGrand and siblings, Carl Williams, Dawson Williams, Jimmy Williams, Wayne Williams and Alice Mixon.

The funeral service for Mrs. LeGrand will be held at 3 o'clock, Tuesday, December 19th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Holiness Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.
