Dr. Mary Elizabeth Mielke Parrish
Dr. Mary Elizabeth Mielke Parrish, of Columbia, wife of Dr. John Cantwell Parrish, died Thursday, February 26, 2015. Born in Fargo, ND on August 22, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Robert H. E. Mielke and Norma Brown Mielke. A caring and compassionate physician, Dr. Parrish provided medical care for children of low income families through her work with Eau Claire Cooperative Pediatrics. Mary was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and she enjoyed gardening and bird watching at her home. Most of all, she delighted in her family, by whom she will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Dr. John C. Parrish; daughter, Anna Parrish; sons, Robert Parrish and Peter Parrish; sisters, Debbie Mielke and Martha "Marty" Mielke Jarvis; and her brother, David Mielke.
A private memorial service for Dr. Parrish was held at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, with The Rev. David H. Lauten officiating.
