Mary Reynolds Duncan, 69, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Born in Raleigh, NC, she was a daughter of the late William Holt Duncan and Lula McCraw Gay Duncan. Mary Reynolds "Cookie" attended Columbia public schools, finishing in 1970. Cookie enjoyed her work at the Babcock Center, mastering basic occupational skills. She has spent the last decade with the extraordinary care and community of United Cerebral Palsy of South Carolina. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her sisters, Elizabeth Holt Duncan Powers (Paul) of Columbia, Lula McCraw Duncan Cromwell (William) of Austin, TX; three nieces, Lockey Boyd Powers Plyler (Adam) of Columbia, Kate Duncan Cromwell Griffin (Brett), and Sarah Hale Cromwell Sheppard (Avery) of Houston, TX; and one great niece; and five great nephews.

A private service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Warrenton, NC. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

The family extends a special thank you to the United Cerebral Palsy community, especially Venita Goodwin, Jarrett Hayes, Kara Tillett, Yeschica Taylor, Tomika Mathews, and Sally Gerula whom she loved dearly, and they loved her in turn.
