Mary G. "Dollie" Savitz, 67, of Columbia, beloved wife of Isaac Savitz, Jr., died Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Sheppard A. and Mary Ella Ehrlich Griffith. Dollie was a graduate of AC Flora High School, Class of 1969, and attended The University of South Carolina. She was a past President of the Junior Women's Club, chairman of Red Stocking Review, and on the board of Palmetto Place. Known for being a great cook, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was the glue that held the family together. Dollie loved parties with her lifelong friends, "The YaYa's", who are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers at her funeral service.

Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 48 years, Isaac; her adoring children, "Marcie" S. Jennings (Martin), Isaac S. "Trey" Savitz (Julia), Michael Griffith "Griff" Savitz; grandchildren, Sarah Dollie Jennings, Martin Daniel Jennings, Jr., Joshua S. Savitz, Marielle Savitz, Millianne Savitz; siblings, Ruth Wallace, Sheppard A. Griffith, Jr., Michael Griffith; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Cathy Griffith.

The funeral for Mrs. Savitz will be held 3 o'clock, Saturday, January 20th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia with interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.

The family wants to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Providence Hospital for their love and care during Dollie's illness.
