Mary Elizabeth Stewart, 57, of Elgin, died Saturday, March 16, 2013. Born in St. Louis, MO August 8, 1955, she was a daughter of Elizabeth Hendrickson Hines and the late Elbert Hicks. A devoted housewife and mother, she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Stewart; daughter, Charlene (Stephen Wingard) Williams of Columbia; sons, Lance Stewart of Columbia, Christopher Stewart of Elgin; mother, Elizabeth Hines of St. Louis, MO; brothers, Robert Ray (Cheri) Hines of Farmington, MO, James Thomas Hines, Jr. of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Ruth Maxwell of St. Clair, MO, Maria Hines of St. Louis, MO; seven grandchildren; several other half brothers and sisters as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mrs. Stewart will be held 11 o'clock, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock.
