Mrs. Mary Kirkham Tucker, 97, of Sistiana, Italy, formerly of Columbia, died Sunday, November 5, 2017. Born in Sweetwater, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Martha Vice Kirkham and married for 53 years to the late Cecil Isadore Tucker. A member of Shandon Baptist Church, Mrs. Tucker was involved in various ministries of the church. For the last ten years, she lived in Sistiana, Italy, cared for by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Rachel Tucker.

In addition to her son, Mrs. Tucker is survived by her daughter, Martha Copeland (Joe); grandchildren, Sam Copeland (Miller), Paul Copeland (Ainhoa), Anna Guzzardo (Chris), Andrew Copeland, Caleb Copeland (Ariana), Laura Tucker, and Gabriel Tucker; great-grandchildren, Bender and Mary Grace Guzzardo; sister, Lois Wells; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, granddaughter, Mary Cecilia Copeland; and nine brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Sunday, November 26th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be at 11 o'clock, Monday, November 27th in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
