Master Kayden Joel Hardy-Valdez, 6, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020. Born at the Baptist Hospital in Columbia, SC, on August 2, 2014, he was a son of Breon Jermaine Hardy and Rubi Estefania Garibay-Valdez.

Kayden was a first grader at Polo Road Elementary. He was a fun, loving son and brother. Everyone who met him fell in love with his contagious laugh and positive personality. Kayden loved to play with his brother and eat their staple dish, macaroni and cheese. He also enjoyed to draw, sing and dance. Currently, his favorite song was Dance Monkey.

In addition to his parents, Kayden is survived by his siblings, Savannah and Brooke Hardy, Kason Valdez; paternal grandparents, Bridgett Reese and James Hardy; maternal grandparents, Humberto Garibay and Veronica Valdez; as well as a host of other loving family members and friends.

The funeral service for Master Hardy-Valdez will be held at 9 o'clock, Thursday November 12th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., with Rev. Fr. C. Alexander McDonald officiating. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Wednesday evening at the funeral home. A rosary will conclude the visitation at 8 o'clock.
