Matthew Eugene Pye, 65, of Columbia, died on Wednesday, January 22, 2013. Born March 23, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was a son of the late Elmer and Charline Curtis Pye. Matthews loved writing and reading poetry, and had an extensive book collection. A devoted Christian, he was a member of Sandhills Community Church. He truly loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ulm Pye; son, Jason (Phankham) Pye; daughter, Erica (Randall) McComas; grandchildren, Ty, Tayler, and Trinity; brothers, Joe (Barb) Pye, Tom (Judy) Pye, and Anthony Pye; and sister, Jean Kent.

A memorial service for Mr. Pye will be held 11 o'clock, Monday, January 27th, at Sandhills Community Church, 3513 Hardscrabble Rd, Columbia, with Pastor Jeff Philpott officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. The family suggests that memorials be made to Camp Forest Springs, N8890 Forest Lane, Westboro, WI 54490.
