Mattie Mae Tobias, 86, of Columbia (formerly of Dillon), died Wednesday, March 29, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Cletus and Ethel Turner Porter. Mrs. Tobias was a member of Dillon Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was known for being a good cook, and the neighborhood mom to many children.

Surviving are her children, Ray Tobias, Virginia Best (Bobby), Linda Miles (Billy), Terry Tobias (Susan), Sandra Bagley (Jimmy), Charlene Tobias (Kenny Brazel), and Clarice Anderson (Sam); 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and sister, Corinne Coward. In addition to her husband John Alfred Tobias, she is preceded in death by sons, Wesley and Bobby Tobias; sisters, Ira Belle Chavis and Mary Alice Tyler; and a brother, Bernice Porter.

The service for Mrs. Tobias will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, March 31st at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia with Rev. Richard Lyttleton officiating. Burial will follow at 3 o'clock in Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock.
